Potsdam is home to the largest UNESCO World Heritage Site in Germany. With its rich history and amazing architecture, the city lies along the banks of the Havel River. Explore the city’s gates or visit Dutch Quarter – there are plenty of reasons why you should put it on your bucket list.
There are 4 ways to reach Potsdam from Brandenburg airport:
Berlin, Germany, used to have two airports - Schönefeld and Tegel, but they both ceased to exist in 2020. A new Berlin Brandenburg Airport is where you will be landing.
If you prefer rail travel, we have great news for you – there is a direct train from Brandenburg Airport. You will find the railway station beneath Terminal 1 (Level U2). Look for the RB22 trains headed to Potsdam, Griebnitzsee, or Friedrichstraße.
Departures are hourly during the day. Your ticket will be 3,30 EUR, and kids get a discounted price. You can buy tickets from the ticket machines at the stations.
Once you land, you can look for a direct airport shuttle express BER2. You will find it at Berlin Airport (Terminal 1-2 and Terminal 5). The bus runs up to 15 times per day.
The duration of the ride is approximately 1 hour, and keep in mind that the BER2 is more expensive than the train. You will pay a total of 9,30 EUR for a one-way ticket.
If you are arriving at Terminals 1 or 2, you can find taxi ranks in front of T1 on Level E0. At T5, you will find taxis in front of terminal area L. You will easily recognize them by the roof sign "Taxi". Your taxi ride will take around 35 minutes, and the rate is calculated using a taximeter.
If you are looking for a smooth, carefree ride in a comfortable vehicle, hire a private transfer. Get all the perks and benefits of this type of transportation. The main advantage is booking in advance. The driver will meet you in the arrivals area any time – day or night. In case you have special demands, such as an extra stop along the way or a child seat, we will take care of that, too.
Another great thing about transfers is that the rate is fixed. There are no hidden costs, and the rate you receive in the transfer confirmation is the one you need to pay. And most importantly, the transfer price is cheaper than the taxi. See for yourself why even more and more people choose private transfers over local taxis.
