When it comes to summer holidays, the noun “music” is practically glued to the phrase! It’s impossible to imagine having fun during the summer season without visiting some concerts, music festivals or simply dancing barefoot at a beach bar while having a refreshing drink.
There are plenty of festivals happening this summer in Europe, from Electronic, R&B, Hip hop and Latino to the good old Jazz. You just need to choose what your favourite summer rhythm for this season is going to be :)
Umbria Jazz Festival

Even if you are not a true jazz fan once you visit the town of Perugia in Italy during the Umbria Jazz Festival you’ll discover the real magic that jazz music can create between the walls of this medieval city. The Umbria Jazz Festival is one of the most important jazz festivals in the world and has been held annually since 1973. During these 10 days in the Green Heart of Italy, between the medieval buildings and squares the visitors will encounter the Jazz legends’ notes not only of orthodox jazz, but also a blend of funk, black music, rock and blues imbibed with the spirit of jazz.
There are several airports close to Perugia: Perugia’s own airport (PEG), Pisa airport (PSA), Ancona airport (AOI), but most likely you’ll fly through Rome Fiumicino airport (FCO).
Fresh Island Festival

Fresh Island Festival is an annual hip hop music festival held at Zrće beach on the island of Pag in Croatia. It’s Europe’s number one urban beach festival that focuses primarily on hip-hop culture along with R&B and grime. The music festival has a large pool and boat parties during the day, as well as main performances at night in the clubs located at Zrće beach near in a cove Novalja.
There are two main airports close to the island of Pag that make this music festival easy to get to. Note that whether you choose to land at the Split Airport (SPU) or Zadar Airport (ZAD) you can book an affordable airport transfer in advance to avoid summer jams that can be quite annoying.
Ultra Europe Festival

For the fifth year in a row, the biggest EDM and house music festival is going to thrill fans from all over the world in Split, where Diocletian’s Palace, ancient Roman monument and the living soul of Split is situated. The main festival performance takes place inside Split's historical Poljud Stadium with many world class DJs, light shows and fireworks, but also extends to beach and boat parties on the turquoise waters of the Adriatic Sea. The Soundwave Festival

You can arrive to Budapest by air, rail, car, train, bus or even a riverboat.
Outlook Festival

The Outlook Festival takes place in the city of Pula, Croatia at Fort Punta Christo and represents the best way to honor the end of the summer! Celebrating the so-called “Soundsystem culture”, the electronic music festival's lineup offers a huge range of styles from all over the bass spectrum. The airport closest to this festival site is Pula (PUY), followed by Trieste (TRS), Ljubljana (LJU), Zagreb (ZAG) and Venice (VCE). Don’t forget to include at least one relaxing day on the beach afterwards so you can relax and recharge your batteries before heading home :)
Bonus tip: Be sure not to miss the festival's incredible opening party, which is held in a spectacular 2000 year-old Roman amphitheatre whose architecture rivals Rome's iconic Colosseum and is the only surviving amphiteatre in the world with all of its towers and all three Roman architectural orders fully preserved.
