Siófok is a charming little town on the southern coast of Lake Balaton. There is a train service every few hours from Budapest to Siófok. The journey time may be longer on weekends and holidays. The average train between Budapest and Siófok takes 1h 22m and the fastest train takes 1h 20m. The earliest departure is at 16:35, and the last departure from Budapest is at 19:35 which arrives in Siófok at 20:55.
All services run directly with no transfers required. However, since this train departs from Budapest-Déli train station which is located in the city center, you will need to combine another means of transport from the airport to the train station.
To reach any city other than the city center, you will need to combine at least two different transfer options: taxi from the airport to city center + bus from Budapest center to Siofok, or shuttle bus from Budapest airport + regular bus to Siofok.
The cheapest way to get from Budapest to Siófok is to share a transfer with other passengers, however, it may not be as comfortable as a private transfer. A direct bus departs from Budapest Újbuda-központ twice a day (every day) and arrives at Siófok Autóbusz-Állomás. The journey takes approximately 1h 19m.
Once you land at Budapest airport and are ready to go to Siofok, you can take a local taxi just in front of the Terminal, as there are many lined up happily waiting for the clients.
