Faro Airport to
Carvoeiro

Carvoeiro is a perfect combination of a Portuguese town and a modern holiday resort. From a fishing village, it has grown to become one of the favorite summer destinations in Portugal. Carvoeiro is mostly known for its beautiful beaches, hidden between impressive red rock cliffs.

Unlike the hectic atmosphere of larger cities such as Albufeira and Portimao, in Carvoeiro, you will have more of a laid-back holiday. If you are landing at Faro airport, here are several transportation options for how to reach Carvoeiro.

Train

You can use the train on this route only for the part of the trip. By Proximo bus, line 16, you need to reach Faro city and catch the train to Estombar- Lagoa. Train company Comboios de Portugal operates on this route every 3 hours, with a travel time of 01:13h. Once you arrive at Estombar- Lagoa train station, walk to the bus station to catch bus 76 to Lagoa. From Lagoa to Carvoeiro, you need to transfer to bus 107. Of course, then you need to take a taxi from the station to your hotel or address in Carvoeiro.

Huh! We got tired just reading how many buses you need to change. Let alone when you need to do it, with kids and luggage, on hot summer days. No? We also think so. Although traveling by public transport can be budget-friendly at times, in this case, it would add cost to your trip and waste a lot of time. This travel would take around 3 hours, including transfers. With private airport taxi, you can be in your air-conditioned room in less than hour!

Bus

Faro airport does not have a direct bus or train connection to any of the surrounding cities and resorts in the area. If you choose bus transfer to reach Carvoeiro, here is some useful information. Bus company Proximo operates on the route from Faro airport to Faro Tribunal bus station. Bus line 16 will take you to Faro city in 20 minutes, for the price of 2.25€.

From Faro Tribunal you need to change to bus 57. This line, operated every 4 hours by the Eva bus, will take you to Lagoa in approx. 01:33h. Once you arrive in Lagoa, you need to change to bus line 107. Operated by the same company, Eva bus, it departs every 3 hours to Carvoeiro. Finally, you will need to take a taxi to your hotel or accommodation.
