Manchester Airport to
Sheffield

Sheffield was known as the steel city because of the heavy industry in 1900. Nowadays, it is one of the greenest cities in the UK. Enjoy this modern, vibrant place that has a lot to offer.

Visit Botanical Gardens, the Cathedral, Kelham Island Museum, Winter Garden, and many more. If your gateway is Manchester airport, you can travel by bus, rail, taxi, and private transfer.

Train

The great thing about Manchester Airport is that it has its railway station. From there, you can find direct lines to Sheffield, which depart regularly during the day. Traveling by rail is easy and convenient.

Your ride will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes and you will pay around 17,00 EUR (14,00 GBP) for a one-way ticket. For more information on train schedules and prices, visit tpexpress.co.uk

Bus

Unfortunately, there is no direct line. You will need to get to Manchester center and then change to a coach. It might be inconvenient, as you will lose a lot of time, but fortunately, it is affordable. First, to get from the airport to the city, you have 2 choices:

  • hop on bus 43 operated by Stagecoach company
  • get on TransPennine Express train

Both of them will get you to Piccadilly Gardens in the city.

Then, look for an X57 shuttle. It departs from Manchester Chorlton Street stand EV, which is just a short walk away. Your X57 (SNAKE) shuttle service operates to Sheffield Interchange, stand D3. To reach your final destination, you should either walk or take a taxi. There are several departures during the day (approx. 2-hour intervals), with reduced services on holidays and weekends. All in all, your total trip time will be lengthy, depending on what time you land. You will be spending about 20,00-25,00 EUR on a one-way ticket.

Taxi

If you are looking for the fastest solution, check out taxis. Taxis will take you directly to your destination, but keep in mind that they are the most expensive means of transport. For a distance of 55 km (35 mi), you will pay around 120,00 EUR. Make sure you agree on the rate before hopping into a taxi.

ADVICE: Don't forget to ask the taxi driver for a receipt. Just in case you accidentally leave something behind. That way, you can contact the taxi service easily, as you will have all the details of your trip on the receipt.

Airport Transfers

How exciting it is to plan a trip to a foreign country! Enjoy your trip to the fullest and book a private transfer. Leave all worries aside. The main advantage of the private transfer is booking in advance. This means that the driver will meet you at the Terminal and take you straight to your address. You don’t have to follow the timetables.

Door-to-door service and fixed-rate are some of the best qualities that airport transfer has to offer. Keep in mind that there are no hidden costs. The rate you see on the website is the one you will pay. You can even choose a vehicle type, for example, a luxury version. Or maybe a larger vehicle to fit all your luggage.
