Beauvais a small city of 55 000 is home to stunning churches and fascinating museums. It has a great history dating back to Roman times and one of the tallest cathedrals in the world - Cathédrale Saint-Pierre de Beauvais. Visit the National Tapestry Gallery (Galerie Nationale de la Tapisserie, also known as Le Quadrilatère) and you will get to enjoy stunning tapestry.
In case you are landing at Paris Beauvais Airport then visiting Beauvais’ city center will not be a problem since the town is only 5 kilometers away. The ride will take approximately 12-15 minutes.
The cheapest way to reach the city is by bus. You can find The Corolis shuttle service right outside the terminal. City bus n° 6 will take you directly to the city center. You can buy the ticket from the driver – just say Beauvais once you get on-board. The No. 6 bus has several stops and keep in mind that one of these stops is SNCF Beauvais (the city's main railroad station). The final stop is "Hotel de Ville" just around the corner from the Mairie (Town Hall).
You can catch the bus starting from 7 or 7:30 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. On workdays, the bus runs every 30 minutes and once an hour on Sundays and holidays.
Fares and tickets: one-way ticket from the airport to Beauvais city is 5 €.
From the Beauvais train station – which is located in the city center - to the airport, the cost of the taxi fare is around € 15 during the daytime (from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the week). The nighttime fare is about € 20 (from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.), and that is how much you will pay during Sundays and holidays. The trip takes about 10 minutes.
Taking a local taxi is a great idea, but booking a private transfer is an even better one. The big difference between the local and private taxi is booking in advance. Once you prebook your taxi- you will have peace of mind and you wouldn’t have to worry about how to find a transfer from the airport. Sometimes, after a long flight, you don’t feel like negotiating the rate of a taxi or keeping an eye on the taximeter all the way to your destination.
Private transfer offers you a fixed rate – isn't that great! What a relief not having to think about the rate and if you don’t want to carry cash with you - you can pay via credit card. So, don’t hesitate and book your unforgettable transfer from the comfort of your home.
