Lyon Aéroport vers
Les Deux Alpes

Les Deux Alpes is the second oldest ski resort in the French Alps. The resort is located 1650 m above sea level and about 160 kilometers from Lyon Airport. Sometimes people call it the ˝upside-down˝ resort due to demanding lower terrain but easier pistes at altitude. Les Deux Alpes offers approximately 220km of pistes for skiing and snowboarding.

You can also try ice skating, snowshoeing, or discovering the ice caves. Enjoying the spa facilities and breathtaking views from the top is always a great choice. But how to get there? Read our guide about transportation to Les Deux Alpes.

Train

Since there are no train stations in ski resorts, you will need to change your transportation from train to bus or taxi. The nearest train station is in Grenoble, located about 70 km and 1 h 30 min by taxi from Les Deux Alpes. A high-speed TGV train that reaches an average speed of around 320km/h operates from Lyon Airport, the Lyon city center, and finally stops at Grenoble train station.

The price starts at about 22,00 EUR per single ticket, and the train ride takes 1 h 15 min. You can buy your ticket online or on the ticket machine. Traveling to Les Deux Alpes by train is not the easiest and fastest option, but it is good to have it as an option.

Bus

During the skiing season, you can travel between Lyon airport and Les Deux Alpes with Bensbus. They operate every day except on Wednesdays. The bus ride takes about 2 h 30 min, but it may be longer depending on the traffic conditions.

The bus ride to Les Deux Alpes will cost you approximately 41,00 EUR for a one-way ticket (72,00 EUR for a round trip ticket). You can take your skis on board free of cost. If you decide to book your ticket on the day of your trip, be prepared to pay extra.
