Cassis is a lovely little southern French fishing village. Surrounded by gorgeous Mediterranean beaches, it’s known for its pastel houses, rocky coves, and fresh seafood. Take a stroll along the marina, sip on a glass of wine, visit the Chateau.
You will be smitten by this beautiful port, which is about 55km (35mi) from the closest gateway – Marseille airport. You can get here by bus, by rail, by taxi, and by airport transfer.
Traveling by rail will cost you less than € 20,00, but be prepared for a long trip of about 2 hours. You will also have to make 3 connections. It will not be the perfect train ride through Provence that you imagine.

From here, you need to take a train to St Charles in the city. You will find it at Platform 1. It leaves every half an hour, and you’ll reach the destination in about 20 minutes. The adult one-way ticket is € 5,20.
You can buy the tickets online, at the counters and SNCF sales terminals.

Kids under 4 are free, and those aged 4 to 12 pay 50% of the price.
Don’t forget you also need to get to the town. You can either take the hourly bus or a taxi (LaPilote).
If you look at the above options, you can see that there’s just too much hassle with too many connections to make and lots of time lost. Although more expensive, a taxi would be a more convenient option for your trip. A taxi will take you directly from Marseille Airport to your address in Cassis. You will find taxi vehicles parked right outside the terminal building.
They all have roof sign ‘TAXI’ and are also equipped with the taximeter inside. You should also be able to see the taxi rates displayed, as well as the professional taxi driver card. Your total cost will be shown on the meter once your ride is over. You are looking at paying about € 120,00 to € 160,00.
Last, but not least, you can take an airport transfer - a private Marseille airport taxi, which you book in advance. Just go online and fill out a quick form.
