Traveling by bus from Dubrovnik Airport to Cavtat is probably not something you'll be looking forward to. The main problem is that there is no direct line to Cavtat. First, you need to take a shuttle to the main station. You can buy a ticket at the counter in the airport building, on the bus, at a ticket dispenser or online (Platanus Agency). Then, at the main station, you need to switch to local bus line 10 that will take you directly to Cavtat. It depends on the season, but usually, it departs once per hour. The ride from the station to Cavtat takes approx. 25 minutes. Your total trip, from the airport to Cavtat, will take you approx. 55 minutes. This is the calculation without waiting for the bus to arrive. When it comes to price, your shuttle ticket costs approx. 7 EUR and your bus ticket approx. 3 EUR. That's a 10 EUR cost. As you can see, it is a cheap option but quite tiresome. It can get nerve-wracking especially in the high season.
Traveling by an airport taxi from Dubrovnik Airport to Cavtat is a much better option. The distance is only 6 km. After stepping out of the airport building, the taxi stand will be in front of the entrance. All Dubrovnik official taxis must have a 'TAXI' sign on their vehicle so you'll easily spot them. The airport taxi costs around 14 EUR. But please to avoid any possible misunderstandings, ask a driver about the price before accepting the taxi ride. Also, there might be extra costs if you're traveling by night.
Airport taxis usually can accommodate up to 4 people but don't have a child seat so it's not the safest option if you're traveling with kids.
