Innsbruck Luchthaven naar
Ischgl

Ischgl, also known as the Ibiza of the Alps, is well-known for skiing. But not only for that. It is also popular for hosting huge concerts with big names from the entertainment industry. The major gateway airport to Ischgl is Innsbruck Airport. But how do you get from Innsbruck airport to Ischgl? The distance to cover is about 100 kilometers (62 miles) through the stunning scenery of the Tyrol mountains. You can reach it either by train/bus or a taxi.

Pricewise, you are looking at spending about 20.00€ for a train ride with multiple changes and about 200€ for a taxi, with a precise amount calculated by taximeter. The third option’s price is somewhere in between, and this would be the price for a private transfer. You will be most comfortable if you choose Innsbruck taxi or private transfer. Taxi saves you time, and you avoid the inconvenience of carrying your luggage around. With a taxi, you do not have to switch to a different means of transport, as it takes you directly to your destination. Choose an Innsbruck Airport taxi to enjoy a pleasant ride to your destination.

Trein

Your first task is to reach Innsbruck Main Railway Station from the airport, as there is no railway station there. You can travel either by bus (route F) from the airport or by a local taxi, and the ride is about 15 minutes. After you have reached Innsbruck Station (Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof), you will board the train to Landeck, as Landeck is Ischgl’s nearest station, at about 30 kilometers (18 miles) away. The ride to Landeck will take from 46 minutes to an hour and 40 minutes, depending on which train is operating at your preferred departure time. The departures from the station are once an hour during the day. The train operates from 5 am until 11 pm.

After you reach Landeck station, you will need to change to bus number 260. The buses run every hour during the day, and the ride is about 45 minutes.

Tickets

An adult ticket for a single journey from Innsbruck to Ischgl is about 18 €. You can reserve the seat for an extra 3,00€. Money saver for sure! But, remember, you have to switch to a bus in Landeck. You can buy tickets online, via mobile app ÖBB, at ÖBB ticket machines, or on the train (additional 3,00€). There are discounts for children traveling, and also options for seniors, or day tickets.

Taxi

The first thing that crosses your mind is probably a taxi – an easy and quick mode of transport. But, beware! The rate is not quite budget-friendly. As with all taxis in Austria, the rate you will pay is regulated and calculated by adding together the base taxi fare plus the price per kilometer.

Added all together, the total rate for a taxi is about 200€.

ADVICE: By booking an airport transfer, your rate is fixed and you make the payment in advance. For a relaxed and worry-free journey yourself a transfer.
