There are frequent shuttles that depart just outside the main terminal building of Split Airport. One of these services is the Croatia Airlines which departs in accordance with each arrival flight. A one-way ticket costs 40 HRK, and the journey time is approximately 30-40 minutes. You pay the driver/conductor on board the bus.
Shuttle bus number 37 operates on a route from Trogir to Split, whilst number 38 goes from the airport to the town of Kastel Stari, and then to Split. Journey time is about 50 minutes from the Airport to Split. There are no restrictions on luggage but bear in mind that this is a local; you take your luggage with you onboard. It may also be quite busy/full at peak times and during summer months.
A catamaran line connecting the port near Split Airport to downtown Split is also available during the summer months. Catamaran Line runs several times a day in summer (each way). Journey time is only 20 minutes.
IMPORTANT: Note that local buses terminate at the local bus station (‘Sukoišan’) in Split, not the main station. From there, you can either take another local bus or a taxi to your final destination.
You can purchase a ticket on the bus (from the driver), for the price of 17 HRK. If you travel with a larger group of friends, this transportation option will cost you much more. 8 passengers would pay 320 HRK for a ride in a crowded shuttle bus, sometimes even standing the whole journey.
A one-way ticket for the catamaran line costs 99 HRK. Tickets can be purchased online or at the Riva Travel agency in Split. It may be a bit pricey for families or larger groups, so a private airport taxi will definitely save your money and time.
