Split City Taxi Rides

Welcome to Split, the biggest city on the Dalmatian coast, full of amazing attractions, architecture, and history. Whether you are staying for a couple of days or you are just passing through, some attractions are a must-see. You can find taxis in Split on several taxi ranks. They are mostly parked: at Riva waterfront, Split ferry port, at the bus and railway station, and next to the Church of St. Frane. Prices are regulated like in other Croatian cities and all drivers use a taximeter.

Be careful because there are a lot of illegal ones, especially during the summer season when Split is full of tourists. They must have the city or municipality name written on the driver's door and a sign 'taxi' on top. Before you start your journey, make sure to set and confirm a price.

The most important to remember is that prices are seasonal. Summer prices (in EUR) are as following:

• Every next kilometer – 1,5
• Luggage per piece – 15,00
• Airport transfer – around 30,00

Winter prices are almost double cheaper but you also need to check and confirm before your ride starts.

Taking a taxi may seem to be a great option, but you need to be careful of the following:

• It is not easy to find one just anywhere in the street. If you are in a hurry, you might be late until you get one.
• Make sure there is a taximeter and that it is set at the start price (20 HRK in summer season and 10 HRK in winter season).
• Card payment is not possible - you need to have cash, preferably in local currency.

ADVICE: If you do not see the taximeter, avoid to take a ride on these so-called “wild taxis” as you might get overcharged.
