The municipality of Krausnick-Groß Wasserburg lies approximately 60 km (38 mi) southeast of Berlin. It is a charming area surrounded by amazing forests. Visit the Tropical Islands and enjoy walking up Krausnick Hills. There are 4 ways to travel from Berlin Brandenburg Airport: rail, shuttle, taxi, and private transfer.
NOTE: Berlin, Germany, used to have two airports - Schönefeld and Tegel, but they both ceased to exist in 2020. A new Berlin Brandenburg Airport is where you will be landing.
Traveling by rail will require at least 2 connections. Once you land at Berlin Brandenburg airport, you should look for the trains RB or RB22. Both of them leave from the station beneath Terminal 1 (Level U2). Departures are every 30 minutes, and the ride takes about 16 min.
Get off at König Wusterhausen stop, and take trains RB, RB24, or RE. You will reach Bran Tropical Island in about half an hour. From here, you need to take the bus 506. The major downside is that it runs only once a day. You are looking at paying between 5,00 and 8,00 EUR for the ticket.
You can take buses number 735 and 736 headed to Krausnick-Groß Wasserburg. The ride will take close to an hour. Once you reach König Wusterhausen station, you need to board RB, RB24, or RE train to Bran Tropical Island station. Finally, catch bus number 506. It runs only 1 time per day.
There are plenty of taxis at Berlin Brandenburg airport just waiting to take you to your destination. Make sure to take a licensed taxi. You can recognize taxis by the cream color and the “taxi” sign on the roof.
The taxi ride will take approximately 40 minutes, and you can expect to pay from around 150,00 EUR and up. The total amount will be shown on the taximeter once your ride is over.
As you can see, this route is not that easy if you rely only on public transportation. Having to change few times is very inconvenient. After a long flight, the only thing that is on your mind is reaching your destination as fast as possible. Your best option would be to book a private transfer.
Even though the price of trains and buses is low - it is just not worth it. You can easily book your transfer online. You can pay by credit card or even in cash – whatever you prefer. The main advantage of private taxis is door-to-door service and fixed rates. You will get to enjoy top-class service in a clean and comfortable vehicle.
